Regina v Keir [2004] NSWSC 964
The only reasonable inference from the evidence—especially the DNA profile of bones found at 18 Wilkes Crescent, the disappearance and lack of sightings or contact by Jean Keir after 9 February 1988, extensive evidence of threats and motive, and the circumstances of her removal from Culburra against her will—is that Thomas Andrew Keir murdered Jean Angela Keir on or about 9 February 1988 at Tregear, New South Wales, acting with intent to cause her death or grievous bodily harm. The prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt each element of the offence, and excluded all other reasonable hypotheses, including voluntary disappearance and provocation.
