BRS v The Queen [1997] HCA 47

The trial judge erred in failing to direct the jury as to the limited uses for which W's evidence could be used (rebuttal of good character and limited corroboration), and failed to warn against propensity reasoning, resulting in a miscarriage of justice because the jury might have used the evidence impermissibly to convict the appellant.
