Although GKC lives with autism spectrum disorder and requires some supports to live independently, the Tribunal gave greater weight to current evidence showing insight, decision-making ability and willingness to seek trusted informal support, and found that the disability did not prevent him making important life decisions. The Tribunal was also satisfied from GKC's explanations of his finances, budgeting, travel arrangements, car purchase and available supports that he was capable of managing his own financial affairs, so the financial management order was revoked.
