Williams v Metropolitan and Export Abattoirs Board [1953] HCA 93
The sales of cooked pork by the plaintiffs in Adelaide were intra-State sales, not inseparably linked with inter-State trade or commerce, and thus not protected by s. 92 of the Constitution. Section 70(c) of the Metropolitan and Export Abattoirs Act validly prohibited their sales, and neither the Act nor the actions of the defendants violated the constitutional freedom of inter-State trade in these circumstances. 'Meat' as defined by the Act includes cooked meat. Plaintiffs were not entitled to any relief.
