REGINA v R [2000] NSWCCA 212

REGINA v R [2000] NSWCCA 212

Although the applicant suffered from a serious depressive condition and was affected by drugs and alcohol, and although those matters warranted mitigation, the offences were extremely serious and toward the upper end of seriousness. The sentencing judge dealt fairly and sympathetically with the mitigating circumstances, made no error of fact or law, and imposed a sentence within the appropriate range; the sentence was therefore not shown to be manifestly excessive.
