The cross claims against the cross defendants are statute barred under s 26(1)(b) of the Limitation Act 1969 because the limitation period for the principal cause of action expired on 11 June 1993 and four years from that date expired on 11 June 1997. There is no power to extend time. As the limitation bar is clear on the pleadings, summary dismissal is appropriate under UCPR 13.4.
