The Court was satisfied that tree roots caused damage to the rear extension slab and sewer pipe, but because of defective construction, delay, lack of prior notice, and the applicant's failure to abate sewer damage, it refused rectification compensation for the extension and ordered only preventative and partial contribution measures: installation of a root barrier with 50% reimbursement and replacement of terracotta sewer pipes with PVC with 25% reimbursement.
