AGI Suretrack, LLC v. Farmers Edge Inc.
The Court construed 'manufacturer code' and 'device class' as terms of art under ISO 11783 (elements of the NAME field) as understood by the POSITA; under that construction Farmobile failed to prove Farmers Edge products contained the required implement profile fields or used them to match implements, so no infringement. Separately, the Court found most device claims anticipated by John Deere GreenStar 3 2630 and the remaining claims (including system claims) obvious in view of the prior art and CGK; consequently all claims of Canadian Patent No. 2,888,742 are invalid, Farmobile's action is dismissed and Farmers Edge's counterclaim for invalidity is granted.
