Abdroikov & Ors, R v

Abdroikov & Ors, R v

The presence of police officers or CPS employees on a jury does not, by itself, offend principles of fairness or impartiality. Eligibility for jury service is determined by statute, and occupation alone is insufficient to establish bias. Unless there is evidence of personal knowledge or connection to the case, or other objective grounds for partiality, such jurors are presumed impartial. The appeals against conviction are dismissed as no unfairness or real possibility of bias was established.
