The Court held that while the High Court's interpretation restricting additional market value and interest to the date of the valid notification is correct in law, appellants are still entitled in the interest of justice to an additional interest of 15% per annum for the period they remained out of possession (16.03.1979 to 22.12.1991), as possession was taken under a notification that did not survive.
