There is no absolute embargo on the production or use of information or documents introduced in in camera proceedings; the court has discretion to authorise disclosure where the public interest, particularly in the investigation of professional misconduct by a statutory body, outweighs the interests protected by the in camera rule. The Fitness to Practice Committee is entitled to seek and use such records for its inquiry, subject to appropriate safeguards for confidentiality and the welfare of the children involved.
