On the balance of probabilities, Mairead McCallion died from a subdural haematoma caused by trauma to the head sustained while being removed from 6 Castleview Court by her partner on the morning of 23 February 2014. There was no evidence of further trauma after this event. While there were losses of opportunity in her care by police and medical staff, these did not contribute to her death, as earlier hospital intervention would not have changed the outcome.
