Walker & Ors, Inquests touching the deaths of [2024] NICoroner 21 (12 April 2024)
The 10 men were unlawfully killed by terrorists on 5 January 1976 in a premeditated sectarian attack. The attack was meticulously planned and executed by individuals who have not been identified or brought to justice. There is no evidence implicating any individual by name, nor evidence of state collusion or foreknowledge. The original investigation was hampered by the context and limitations of the time, but subsequent reviews and the present inquest have exhausted all reasonable lines of inquiry. The deaths remain one of the most horrific incidents of violence in Northern Ireland's Troubles.
