PUBLIC PROSECUTOR v LEE SZE YONG
Section 3 of the Kidnapping Act requires an intention to hold a person for the purpose of obtaining ransom; it does not require the abductor to intend to hold the victim until and unless the ransom is paid. On the evidence the accused intended to hold the victim for ransom and is therefore guilty under s 3.
