The evidence established that the plaintiff wilfully interfered with the Metro official, obstructing him in the execution of his duties, thereby satisfying the jurisdictional requirements for a lawful arrest under s 40(1)(j) of the Criminal Procedure Act. The arresting officer exercised his discretion rationally and in good faith.
