Ratio Decidendi

The Defendants entered into a loan agreement with the Plaintiff, received the loan amount, and defaulted on repayment despite reminders. The Plaintiff's evidence was uncontested, and the Defendants did not file a defence. The court found that the Defendants breached the contract. The Plaintiff is entitled to recover the outstanding loan balance of UGX 121,253,208, with interest at 15% per annum from the date of filing until payment in full. General damages were declined as the awarded interest sufficiently compensates the Plaintiff. Costs of the suit are also awarded to the Plaintiff.
