The court found that two of the three original administrators had expressly relinquished their duties and were unable or unwilling to continue administering the estate. This rendered the grant of letters of administration useless and inoperative under Section 234(2)(d) of the Succession Act. The court held that proper administration of the estate and protection of beneficiaries' interests require revocation of the current grant. The court cannot simply remove the names of administrators who have relinquished their duties; instead, the entire grant must be revoked and a fresh grant made.
