The court found that the joint grant of letters of administration had become inoperative because the respondent had renounced his role and no longer wished to participate in the administration of the remaining estate, which consisted solely of monthly pension remittances for the benefit of the deceased's children. The law requires that the removal of an administrator from a grant must be effected by revocation and the making of a fresh grant, rather than simply striking out the name.
