The Respondent breached the sale agreement by failing to pay the full purchase price within the agreed period and did not provide sufficient evidence of registration of the vehicle in his name. The Appellant retained the log book and, under the terms of the sale agreement, was entitled to impound and resell the vehicle upon default. The trial Chief Magistrate erred in finding that the Respondent was not in breach and in ordering a refund of the purchase price and general damages to the Respondent. The Appellant is entitled to recover the outstanding balance of UGX 4,800,000 and costs of the appeal and suit, but is not entitled to general damages due to lack of evidence of quantifiable...
