The purported appearance by the manager, even if made at the correct court, would have been a nullity and does not constitute sufficient cause to set aside the dismissal under Order 9, rule 15. On the limitation issue, the law applicable to the suit is the law of the forum (Kenya), and the Limitation Ordinance (Cap. 11) governs the limitation period for simple contracts, including loans.
