The existence of a pending substantive application for stay of execution and a real threat of execution before its disposal justified the grant of an interim order. The court distinguished between the requirements for an interim stay and those for a substantive stay, holding that for the interim order, it is sufficient to show a pending substantive application and a real threat to execution.
