The High Court found that the prosecution proved all elements of obtaining money by false pretence against the Appellant: she made a false representation that she was the owner of land registered in the name of the Administrator General, knew the statement was false, and intended to defraud the complainant, who relied on the representation and paid UGX 142M. The Appellant was not authorised to sell the land and failed to deliver it. The evidence of defence witnesses, initially co-accused but acquitted, was not accomplice evidence requiring corroboration.
