The absence of an employment contract between the claimant and the Attorney General precludes the existence of a labour dispute within the meaning of the Employment Act and the Labour Disputes (Arbitration and Settlement) Act. Claims in tort, such as false imprisonment and malicious prosecution, do not fall within the jurisdiction of the Industrial Court unless they arise directly from an employment relationship.
