  2. 2 Whether the Plaintiff is entitled to the remedies claimed, including outstanding dues, general damages, interest, and costs.

Ratio Decidendi

The court found that the Plaintiff was employed by both Defendants under a contract of service, based on evidence of remuneration, control, and integration into the 1st Defendant's business. However, the Plaintiff's claim for UGX 82,500,000 was not supported by consistent evidence; the written acknowledgment of UGX 30,000,000 as full and final settlement up to June 2017 was binding. The Plaintiff proved continued service from July 2017 to May 2018, entitling him to UGX 10,000,000 for that period. The Plaintiff was also awarded general damages for inconvenience and interest on both principal and damages. Costs followed the event and were awarded to the Plaintiff.
