The re-deployment and downgrading of the appellant's position without the Board of Trustees was null and void as it was ultra vires the enabling statute. However, the subsequent termination of the appellant's contract by notice, as provided in his employment contract and upon recommendation by the properly constituted Staff Affairs Committee, was lawful. There was no evidence of variation of basic conditions of employment or redundancy.
