Ratio Decidendi

The respondents were entitled to the 1992 salary appraisals and employer’s pension contributions as there was no contractual or statutory basis for unilateral alteration or withholding by the employer; repatriation allowances were also due under Clause 11.1 as redundancy did not preclude such entitlement; the claim for a 300% salary increment failed as the increment was reduced to 130% and became effective after retrenchment.
