Respondents who had served 22 years and above were properly retired under the LASF Act and their gratuity was correctly computed using the unionized formula. Respondents who had not reached pension age or 22 years of service were made redundant due to reorganization and are entitled to redundancy benefits under Circular HRA/07/01 of 26th July 1993. All Respondents' retirement benefits must be calculated based on salaries as at 30th June 1996, including all increments up to that date, less amounts already paid, with 40% interest from the lower court's judgment date until payment.
