Provision text
Official source1. The President or, in his absence, the Vice-President or, if they are both absent, a Senator (not being a Minister or a Parliamentary Secretary) elected by the Senate for that sitting shall preside at any sitting of the Senate: Provided that the President or Vice-President, as the case may be, shall not preside when a motion for his removal from office is before the Senate.
