Provision text
Official source2. The powers of the Governor-General under this section shall be exercised by him in accordance with that advice of the Prime Minister, save that where the Governor- General considers that it is impracticable to obtain the advice of the Prime Minister owing to his absence or illness, or where the Prime Minister is unable to tender the advice by reason of the provisions of section 73(4) of this Constitution, the Governor- General may exercise those powers in his discretion.
