A República de Cabo Verde reconhece a igualdade de todos os cidadãos perante a lei, sem distinção de origem social ou situação económica, raça, sexo, religião, convicções políticas ou ideológicas e condição social e assegura o pleno exercício por todos os cidadãos das liberdades fundamentais.
