Official source1 Section 96 (Central Office) is amended as follows. 2 In subsection (1) leave out “Lord Chancellor may” and insert “ Lord Chief Justice may, with the concurrence of the Lord Chancellor, ” . 3 In subsection (2) for “of the Lord Chancellor under this section” substitute “ under subsection (1) ” . 4 After subsection (2) insert— 3 The Lord Chief Justice may nominate a judicial office holder (as defined in section 109(4) of the Constitutional Reform Act 2005) to exercise his functions under this section.
