1 The Lord Chancellor must pay to the Commission such sums as he may determine are appropriate for, or in connection with, the exercise by it of its functions. 2 The Lord Chancellor may by direction require the Commission— a not to incur costs and expenditure in excess of a specified amount without his consent; b to follow specified procedures in relation to its costs and expenditure. 3 A direction under sub-paragraph (2) may relate to all of the Commission's costs and expenditure, or to costs and expenditure of a specified description.
