Provisions in the law

In the following matters provisions shall be prescribed by law: (1) The manner of selecting the members of the Committee for the Selection of Judges, and the duration of their tenure of office; (2) Qualifications for serving as judges at the various levels; (3) The manner of appointment of the President of the Supreme Court, the Deputy to the President of the Supreme Court, the President and Deputy President of a District Court and of a Magistrates' Court; (4) The conditions and procedures for terminating the service of a judge; (5) The manner of appointing an acting judge in another court, and the reassignment of a judge, temporarily or permanently, from the place where he serves to a court in a different location; (6) The procedures for suspending a judge, and a review of the suspension; (7) The cases which different levels of courts shall deal with, with a bench of a single, three or more judges; (8) The manner of determining which judge or judges shall hear a particular case.
