Who shall not be a

The following shall not be candidates to the Knesset: candidate (Amendments Nos. 2, (1) The President of the State; 21 & 33) (2) The two Chief Rabbis; (3) A judge; (4) A religious court judge ("dayan"); (5) The State Comptroller; (6) The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces; (7) Rabbis and clerics of other religions, holding paid office; (8) Senior civil servants and military officers of such ranks and positions as shall be prescribed by law; (9) Policemen and prison wardens of such ranks and positions as shall be prescribed by law; (10) Employees in corporations established by law of such ranks and positions as shall be prescribed by law. unless they have ceased to serve in that position or job, as stated, before the deadline for submitting lists of candidates for the Knesset, and should an earlier date be set by law, before the said date.
