Official sourceArticle 119: The election of the new President of the Republic must take place at least a month
prior to the termination of the previous presidential term. In the interim between the election of
the new President of the Republic and the end of the previous presidential term, the former
President of the Republic fulfills the duties of the President of the Republic.
