Definitions

(1) For the purposes of this Constitution, unless otherwise provided, "Parliament" consists of the National Assembly and the President as Head of State. (2) An "Act of Parliament" shall be a Bill which has— (a) been laid before the National Assembly; (b) been passed in the National Assembly by a simple majority or such other majority as is otherwise required by this Constitution in respect of any particular Bill; and (c) been assented to by the President in accordance with this Chapter. (3) " Chamber " means the Chamber of the National Assembly. [4 of 2001; 13 of 2001]
