65. (1) There shall be a Clerk to the Senate and a Clerk to the House of Representatives. (2) The Clerk to the Senate and the Clerk to the House of Representatives shall be appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong from among members of the general public service of the Federation and each shall hold office until he attains the age of compulsory *NOTE—The Emergency (Essential Powers) Ordinance No. 45, 1970 [P.U. (A) 282/1970] has ceased to have effect on 21 June 2012 by virtue of Clause (7) of Article 150 of the Federal Constitution.
