Director of Mental Health to send to Electoral Commission information about persons disqualified for registration

1 The Director of Mental Health must send to the Electoral Commission the information specified in subsection (2) in relation to a person who— a is disqualified under section 80(1)(c) for registration as an elector; and b is of or over the age of 17 years. 2 The information referred to in subsection (1) is— a the name and date of birth of the person; and b the person’s previous residential address; and c the name and address of the hospital or secure facility in which the person is detained. Section 86AA : inserted , on 20 December 2025 , by section 12 of the Electoral Amendment Act 2025 (2025 No 82).
