Other grounds on which registration may be refused

1 The Electoral Commission shall refuse an application for the registration of a political party if— a the application does not comply with section 63 ; or b if it is satisfied that the party does not have 500 current financial members who are eligible to enrol as electors. 2 Unless section 65 or subsection (1) applies, the Electoral Commission shall, subject to section 64 , register the political party that is the subject of the application. 3 Section 66(1)(b) : substituted , on 6 December 1995 , by section 19 of the Electoral Amendment Act (No 2) 1995 (1995 No 61). Section 66(3) : repealed , on 28 February 2002 , by section 15 of the Electoral Amendment Act 2002 (2002 No 1).
