Registrar of Electors

1 The Electoral Commission— a must appoint a Registrar of Electors for each electoral district: b may appoint a Deputy Registrar of Electors for any electoral district: c may appoint a Registrar or a Deputy Registrar for a named electoral district that is not yet in existence. 2 Every Registrar and every Deputy Registrar— a must be an individual who is an electoral official; and b may not hold any official position in any political organisation. 3 The Deputy Registrar for an electoral district may, subject to the control of the Registrar for that electoral district, exercise or perform all of that Registrar's powers, duties, and functions.
