The Amir shall take the following oath prior to the discharge of his
functions:
“I swear by the Almighty God to respect the Shari'a law,
the Constitution and the law, safeguard the
independence of the Country, preserve its territorial
integrity, and defend the freedom of the people and the
interests thereof.”
