Official sourceARTICLE 97 (1) Vacancy of the office of President of Romania shall be due upon his resignation, removal from office, permanent impossibility to discharge his powers and duties, or death.
(2) Within three months of the date when the Presidency of Romania fell vacant, the Government shall organize elections for a new President.
