Resident district commissioner.

(1) There shall be for each district a resident district commissioner who shall be a senior civil servant appointed by the President. (2) The functions of a resident district commissioner are— (a) to coordinate the administration of Government services in the district; (b) to advise the district chairperson on matters of a national nature that may affect the district or its plans and programmes and particularly the relations between the district and the Government; and (c) to carry out such other functions as may be assigned by the President or prescribed by Parliament.
