(no amdt) ALBERTA REGULATION 71/2020 Lobbyists Act LOBBYISTS ACT GENERAL REGULATION Table of Contents 1 Definition 2 Fees 3 Time for filing certain consultant lobbyist returns 4 Transitional 5 Repeal 6 Coming into force Definition 1 In this Regulation, “Act” means the Lobbyists Act . Fees 2 (1) Subject to subsection (2), the fee payable for filing a return pursuant to section 4 or 5 of the Act is $150. (2) No fee is payable if the return is filed electronically. (3) On application by a designated filer, the Registrar may reduce or waive the payment of the filing fee payable by the designated filer under this section where the Registrar is of the opinion that to require payment of the filing fee would cause undue financial hardship. Time for filing certain consultant lobbyist returns 3 (1) The designated filer in respect of a consultant lobbyist who becomes a consultant lobbyist as the result of (a) an order referred to in section 3.1(3) of the Act, or (b) a body becoming a public agency within the meaning of Part 4.3 of the Conflicts of Interest Act , shall file with the Registrar a return in the prescribed form and containing the information required in Schedule 1 of the Act with respect to the undertaking not later than 30 days after the publication of the order or the date on which the body becomes a public agency, as the case may be. (2) A designated filer is required to file only one return under subsection (1) even though a consultant lobbyist named in the return may, in connection with that undertaking, communicate with one or more public office holders on one or more occasions or arrange one or more meetings between a public office holder and any other individual. Transitional 4 Nothing in this Regulation affects (a) a duty to file a return, to provide information or to publish information that existed before this Regulation comes into force, or (b) a time period that commenced in respect of a person or proceeding before this Regulation comes into force. Repeal 5 The Lobbyists Act General Regulation (AR 247/2009) is repealed. Coming into force 6 This Regulation comes into force on July 1, 2020.
