This regulation sets how regional health authority bargaining units are made up, defines a few terms, and states when the regulation starts and when it expires.
(Consolidated up to 18/2022) ALBERTA REGULATION 80/2003 Labour Relations Code REGIONAL HEALTH AUTHORITY COLLECTIVE BARGAINING REGULATION Definitions 1 In this Regulation, (a) “Act” means the Labour Relations Code ; (a.1), (a.2) repealed AR 18/2022 s2; (b) repealed AR 64/2009 s2; (c), (d) repealed AR 18/2022 s2; (d.1) “emergency health services” means emergency health services under the Emergency Health Services Act ; (d.2) repealed AR 18/2022 s2; (d.3) “nurse practitioner” means a nurse practitioner who is employed and practicing as a nurse practitioner in accordance with the Health Professions Act ; (e), (f) repealed AR 64/2009 s2; (g)‑(j) repealed AR 18/2022 s2. AR 80/2003 s1;64/2009;199/2020;18/2022 Region-wide functional bargaining units 2 (1) Bargaining units for employees of a regional health authority shall consist of all employees in the health region who are represented by a bargaining agent and are employed in one of the following functional groups: (a) direct nursing care or nursing instruction; (b) auxiliary nursing care; (c) paramedical professional or technical services; (d) general support services; (e) advanced nursing care or nursing instruction performed by a nurse practitioner. (2) For the purpose of subsection (1)(c), paramedical professional or technical services includes the provision of emergency health services. Expiry 22 For the purpose of ensuring that this Regulation is reviewed for ongoing relevancy and necessity, with the option that it may be repassed in its present or an amended form following a review, this Regulation expires on March 31, 2027.
