Statute overview

About this statute

This Act lets the Commission regulate gas utilities, gas prices, rates, contracts, and service standards, while restricting unfair rates and certain share transactions. The Commission can set rules for negotiated settlements and complaints, but it must protect confidential settlement material and cannot consider without-prejudice material without consent. Gas utility owners and municipal gas utilities have filing, service, and accounting duties, and rate changes need Commission approval.
