About this statute

This part sets licensing, operational, safety, emergency, storage, and spill-response rules for geothermal wells and facilities, with many requirements tied to Regulator approval or Directive 071/089 compliance. This part sets operating, safety, emissions, waste, reporting, and closure rules for licensees of wells and facilities, with strong Regulator approval and direction powers. If a licensee is non-compliant with section 20 of the Act, the Regulator may post service notices or orders on its website, and they must stay posted for 24 hours (excluding Saturdays and holidays) before being treated as served. The provision also lists several fees and states when the Rules start and when they expire.
