This regulation defines “electronics,” designates electronics as a material under the Act, and says the regulation expires on June 30, 2031, with commencement on October 1, 2004.
(Consolidated up to 90/2026) alberta regulation 94/2004 Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act ELECTRONICS DESIGNATION REGULATION Table of Contents 1 Definitions 2 Electronics as designated material 5 Expiry 6 Coming into force Definitions 1 In this Regulation, (a) “Act” means the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act ; (b) and (c) repealed AR 213/2019 s2; (d) “electronics” means all electrical and electronic equipment or devices, whether intended for consumer, industrial or commercial use, and includes, without limitation, (i) audio visual devices, (ii) computers, laptops and notebooks, including CPUs, keyboards, mouse, cables and other components in the computer, (iii) computer monitors, (iv) computer printers, including printers that have scanning or fax capabilities, or both, (v) electrical components of wind turbines, (vi) electric vehicle batteries, (vii) electronic musical instruments, (viii) electronic toys, (ix) lawn and garden care equipment, (x) power tools, (xi) scanners, (xii) small appliances, (xiii) solar panels, (xiv) telecommunication devices, (xv) televisions, and (xvi) video game equipment, but does not include electronics contained within and affixed to a motor vehicle; (e) and (f) repealed AR 213/2019 s2.
