This regulation defines several lubricating-oil-related terms, designates lubricating oil material as designated material, repeals an earlier regulation, and sets an expiry date and commencement date.
(Consolidated up to 90/2026) ALBERTA REGULATION 100/2018 Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act LUBRICATING OIL MATERIAL DESIGNATION REGULATION 1 Definitions 2 Lubricating oil material as designated material 4 Repeal 5 Expiry 6 Coming into force Definitions 1 In this Regulation, (a) “Act” means the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act ; (b) and (c) repealed AR 214/2019 s2; (d) “container” means a container in which lubricating oil is supplied and that has a capacity of 30 litres or less; (e) “filter” means any spin-on or element style fluid filter that is used in hydraulic or internal combustion engine applications, but does not include a gasoline fuel filter; (f) “lubricating oil” means petroleum-derived or synthetic crankcase oil, engine oil, hydraulic fluid, transmission fluid, gear oil, heat transfer fluid or other oil or fluid used for lubricating purposes in machinery or equipment; (g) “lubricating oil material” means lubricating oil, containers and filters; (h) repealed AR 214/2019 s2. AR 100/2018 s1;214/2019 Lubricating oil material as designated material 2 Lubricating oil material is designated as designated material for the purposes of Part 9, Division 1 of the Act and the Designated Material Recycling and Management Regulation (AR 93/2004). 3 Repealed AR 214/2019 s3. Repeal 4 The Lubricating Oil Material Recycling and Management Regulation (AR 82/97) is repealed. Expiry 5 For the purpose of ensuring that this Regulation is reviewed for ongoing relevancy and necessity, with the option that it may be repassed in its present or an amended form following a review, this Regulation expires on June 30, 2031.
