About this statute

This regulation sets natural gas royalty rules, reporting requirements, and Ministerial powers for Alberta’s royalty system. This provision sets how royalty compensation is calculated and adjusted, when the Minister can issue credits or directions, and what reports, records, deposits, and payments royalty clients and facility operators must provide. Some reporting failures and royalty-compensation deficiencies can trigger fixed or percentage-based penalties, and the Minister can also waive certain penalties. This provision sets sulphur and helium royalty calculations, reporting rules, audit cooperation duties, and a possible royalty exemption for certain solution gas.
